Last night, Feb 28th, long-serving staff from Australia’s resources, agriculture, and businesses celebrated Executive Chairman Mrs. Gina Rinehart AO’s February birthday and long-serving employees for their decade of service.
The event honoured these long-serving team members from Hancock Prospecting, Roy Hill, Atlas Iron, HanRoy, Hancock Agriculture, and Kidman. More than 450 people were in attendance.
They were entertained by another world first—a staff choir decked in Rossi boots and Kidman apparel!
Guests enjoyed 2GR Wagyu brisket and ribs prepared by Chef Raf and Sarah, plus American-style hot dogs and Kidman pies.
Hancock Iron Ore CEO Gerhard Veldsman highlighted the company’s dedication to employee well-being, offering family-friendly rosters, regional flights, and generous benefits such as profit sharing and private healthcare. He thanked the staff for their service and for helping to make the company the best in Australia! Many long-serving employees have progressed in their careers from Roy Hill to HanRoy, HPPL, and Atlas, contributing to new projects and enhancing operations.
HanRoy CEO Sanjiv Manchanda reflected on the company’s achievements before leading the awards segment. As each CEO announced the recipients, employees stood at their tables, received a well-deserved round of applause, and then took to the stage to accept their plaques and pose for photos.
The evening was a true celebration of loyalty, growth, and appreciation, bringing employees and executives together to recognise another successful year. The celebrations included the tradition of raffles, started to coincide in February with Mrs. Rinehart’s birthday (this being in addition to the Christmas raffles).
Prior to Mrs. Rinehart’s speech, which quoted at length from the recent speech that the President of Argentina gave at CPAC USA, a video was shown of employees across the business, saying why they liked the company and were proud to work for it. The end of the video featured Hon. Adam Giles, CEO of Hancock Agriculture.
Adam Giles joined via video and congratulated Mrs. Rinehart, saying:
“Mrs. Rinehart, you are one of the most tenacious, hardworking, and visionary people I have ever known. Seeing what you have accomplished with this company since the early 1990s – taking it from rack and ruin to becoming Australia’s largest private company, and now leaving a mark all over the world – is a true credit to your leadership and dedication.”
