The chief executives leading Atlas Iron and Roy Hill will be bumped up to new overarching roles within the broader Hancock Prospecting group as it moves on big growth plans for iron ore.
Gina Rinehart’s private business announced today that two new roles would be created in light of the ‘growing complexity’ rail and port systems within Roy Hill and bigger plans to lift production from 60mtpa to 100mtpa.
As part of the executive shake-up, Atlas Iron’s current chief executive Sanjiv Manchanda will be promoted to chief executive officer group projects at Hancock Prospecting.
According to the company, Mr Manchanda is set to bring a ‘sharp overarching focus to how the group pursues project development’ in the new role.
His counterpart at Roy Hill, Gerhard Veldsman, will be appointed CEO Group Operations at Hancock Prospecting, overseeing both Roy Hill and Atlas Iron.
Both roles are set to take effect from January 30 2023.
In addition, Roy Hill non-executive director and Hancock Prospecting executive director Barry Fitzgerald will take up a new technical director (iron ore) posting at Hancock Group.
