A Record Week Of Awards For Mrs Rinehart And The Hancock Prospecting Group

The week commenced with the National Dairy Awards, wherein the partnership with Bannister Dairies was awarded three national awards.

On the 18th May, 2016 in Melbourne, Roy Hill was announced as a very proud recipient of the Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA) Railway Project Award for their Roy Hill rail mega project.

The award was accepted by Roy Hill Project Director Sanjiv Manchanda, and Roy Hill and Hancock Prospecting Chairman Mrs. Gina Rinehart.

Adding to this, the Hancock Prospecting Group was proudly represented in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia at the Global Branding Awards, where Mrs. Gina Rinehart was awarded the Global Lifetime Icon awards in Minerals and Exploration.

The Global Awards seek to recognise those who have not only built, but also led successful and growing brands in their respective industries. Mrs. Rinehart was honoured to accept this award for her continuing outstanding efforts in the mining and exploration industries.

Due to other commitments which saw Mrs. Rinehart in Melbourne, the prestigious award was presented to Diana Hancock, Mrs. Rinehart’s cousin, who accepted on Mrs Rinehart’s behalf.

Diana says “To now witness the global reach of Hancock Prospecting with four major mine interests – as Australia’s largest private company, and one of Australia’s largest companies – gives me a highly personal perspective on the breadth of her achievements and Gina’s razor sharp focus and determination, at the times in the face of great adversity. And obstacles!

Of Mrs. Rinehart’s achievements, Diana says “It is notable that aside from her hard work and persistence, I also know my cousin Gina as someone who absolutely loves her country and is passionate and committed to promoting Australia on the world stage.

“She is the chief private sponsor and patron of Swimming Australia, Rowing Australia, Volleyball Australia and Synchronised Swimming, having donated millions to ensure our country’s athletes are supported to be great ambassadors for Australia at the coming Olympic Games in Rio later this year.

“She is also a caring philanthropist…through her Hancock Family Medical Foundation and more recently, the Georgina Hope Foundation.

All of this has been enabled by the mining industry, for which Gina Rinehart receives this award.” Diana Hancock’s speech attached.
