Burnett and partner Chris McHugh came from behind to defeat Canada in an epic three-set struggle and claim the gold medal.
The duo dropped the first set 21-17, but leveled the match at one set apiece by winning the second set by the same scoreline, teeing up a third and final set in the process.
The two teams went blow-for-blow and point-for-point in the third set as neither team were able to land a killer blow, until McHugh made a string of big plays with the game on the line to help him and Burnett prevail and claim a glorious gold.
